Dinner time at the legend's place
Why in the world had she set five spot settings at the table?
Jenny gazed at the warm scene before her: the steaming goulash, the mandatory serving of mixed greens (in spite of the fact that the young men would positively set up a complain about eating it), and the blue blossomed plates they had at last situated (in the last box they had opened, obviously).
Jenny shook her head. It's clever what you do on auto-pilot, she pondered, as she assembled the additional one up. As far back as the move, she had been so neglectful and diverted.
She crossed the expansive lounge area and headed upstairs. As dazzling as their new residence seemed to be, it couldn't be denied that it took any longer to round everybody up for supper. The house was huge, a squeaking behemoth loaded with vaulted roofs, cleaned stairways and an unending system of faintly lit corridors.
She went over Sophie first. She was playing on the wide arriving at the highest point of the stairs, her brilliant hair enlightened by dusty bits of daylight spilling in from the sound window. Somewhat less other-worldly was seeing her toys strewn about like little landmines for a rushed bystander.
"Supper time, sweetie" Jenny said with a grin as she hurled a fluffy duck in the hamper.
Instead of grinning back, Sophie gazed up at her gravely. "I don't care for it here, Mommy" she expressed.
Jenny hunkered down to take a gander at her. "What do you mean, Sophie? I however you enjoyed your quite new room?"
Sophie shook her head and whispered "It's eager, mom."
"What is, sweetheart?" Jenny said with a prodding grin.
"The house" she said basically.
Jenny felt a little shudder gone through her, yet disregarded it. "Try not to be senseless, sweetie" she said daintily. "The special case who's ravenous here is me! Presently, get your toys and come down to supper."
Halting to holler "Supper!" at Tim in his office, she strolled further a few doors down to jab her head into Calum's room. "Suppers prepared, kiddo". Calum recognized her with a carless gesture, not trying to remove his earphones.
Feigning exacerbation, Jenny strolled back through the vacant landing. Young people. She admitted to a little positive feeling that school would begin soon; after a long summer, the break from Calum's all of a sudden irregular demeanor would be welcome.
Heading down the stairs, she was taken after in the blink of an eye by Tim and Calum trampling down uproariously, jarring each other.
"We got somebody coming over for supper that I don't think about, dear?" Tim asked, raising his eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" Jenny said in perplexity. With a smile, he motioned to the table.
Jenny looked over. Beyond any doubt enough, staying there were four flawlessly put settings.
Jenny chuckled regretfully and shook her head. "Sorry hun-I don't have the foggiest idea about what's off with my mind nowadays!" she said as she sunk into her seat. "It must be the move."
